I had the privilege of meeting a very talented Meerschaum carver from Turkey. "Ishmael" allowed me to pick the finest pipes that he made in his shop. His family owns a meerschaum mine and this top grade material comes from eighty feet under ground!!

All of his work was excellent, though I was able to choose several pipes that I will be offering now and in the near future. This particular pipe is the traditional dragon egg in claw, though large and so finely crafted.

The detail is exquisite and the stem is an amber swirl acrylic fancy that perfectly balances this pipe. The mortise & tenon are well fit made to be durable and only amplify the detail that went into this pipe! Meer lovers can appreciate the size and magnitude of this gem, though if you are looking for a first meerschaum pipe, this is one of excellence in material, design and craftsmanship. The custom case is also included to protect your investment. An uncommon find in size and artistry with a generous bowl that will make for a magnificent smoker. Ishmael shared photos of some his pipes that have been smoked for a year or more and his meerschaum seasons beautifully. I wouldn't be disappointed if this pipe stays in my collection, but I simply can't keep them all. Truly, a handcrafted masterpiece by a highly experienced carver, selecting these great treasures direct from Turkey in person was a rare treat for me indeed.
