For this pipe, we enlisted the services of Turkish master Kenan. Animals have served as popular motifs in meerschaum carving for centuries. Furthermore, there is a group of animals that have been strongly represented in these carvings, with this group having one particular thing in common: hunting. But the animals typically featured in meerschaum carvings tend to have a more "European" bent, or are at least universal figures, such as dogs. For this MBSD Meerschaum Masters pipe, iconic Turkish carver Kenan brought a more "American" creature to his bench, resulting in this extraordinary plains bison (sometimes referred to as a buffalo) design.
