MBSD has provided a solution for an issue that has haunted meerschaum pipe smokers for years. The briar-mortise is a briar fitting in the meerschaum stemmel that allows a 9mm filter stem to be used. The stem is replaceable using any "regular" pipe stem. No need to find the correct threading for a screw or worry about breaking the stemmel because you tightened the stem too tight. A fitted case is included.
